Hand-lettered assets for a workflow software ad campaign video

Opportunity:

Bring a hand-drawn, playful edge to a short web ad for Basecamp to show how it’s set apart from its competitors in the project management software realm.

Solution:

A fun, collaborative project where we utilized all hand-crafted elements to create a punchy, engaging web ad. Using inspiration from the Basecamp brand, hand-written fonts, and original concepting, I created hand-lettered text elements that guided the video flow.

Concepting

Full mock-ups for all text elements using tracing paper and sharpie. After approvals, transferred designs to white and yellow illustration board.

Concept brainstorm thumbnails for the three key “C” words: “Confusing,” “Convoluted,” and “Complicated”
